Beth Kendrick knew she wanted to be an author, but wasn’t sure if she had what it takes to get published. How did she get the courage to give writing a chance? She attended a wedding where the bride-to-be was a published romance novelist, and Kendrick waited until the right moment (when the bride and her friends were pretty well off on champagne) to start asking her questions. After getting some excellent advice and encouragement, Kendrick began work on her first manuscript, which would eventually become My Favorite Mistake. This novel would go on to win Kendrick the Romance Writer’s of America’s Golden Heart Award.
Beth Kendrick’s other titles include: In One Year and Out the Other, Flirting with Pride and Prejudice, Exes and Ohs, Fashionably Late, Nearlyweds, Grey’s Anatomy 101, Everything I Needed to Know About Being a Girl I Learned from Judy Blume, and The Pre-Nup. She also has three published titles under the name Beth Killian: Boy Trouble, Everything She Wants, and Life as a Poser.
Beth Kendrick has her Ph.D is psychology. She currently lives with her husband and their two dogs, Roxie and Friday, in Arizona.

Becca Davis has a boring life. She doesn’t quite realize just how boring and predictable it has become until her boyfriend, Kevin Bradley, pops the question on her. She is twenty-five years old and living with her parents in Phoenix. She needs a change of pace. What could be more perfect then moving to Los Angeles, where Becca’s rich, married sister Claire is living the good life. So Becca breaks it off with her controlling fiancé and heads to LA. She has dreams to start a fashion career, and may have gotten her big break when she meets Fiona, a celebrity stylist who needs someone to put her clients together. In the meantime, Becca takes a part-time job as a hostess in an upscale restaurant, run by the sexy and adventurous Connor Sullivan. Becca feels the connection between them, but can she convince Connor of the same?
Fashionably Late by Beth Kendrick has fashion, celebrities, and romance, all with a witty and clever tone. The heroine has a story to tell, coming a long way from a floundering, boring young woman, to becoming a risk-taking, self aware individual. The supporting characters are well written, with unique tales as well, making Fashionably Late an irrestistible chick lit novel.
The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella

Samantha Sweeting is about to make partner at the prestigious law firm Carter Spink- something she has worked her whole life on becoming. Samantha really doesn’t have a life anymore because of it, she has put her all into her career; almost no friends, no love interest, living off of take out orders, barely even knowing her neighbors in her apartment complex. But this ambitious 29-year old doesn’t care. Partner is what she wants, and partner is what she will get.
Until she finds an untouched, overlooked memo on her desk, signaling her mistake and costing her company 50 million pounds. She stumbles out of the office, her second home, and slips onto the first train she sees. She gets off somewhere in the country and knocks on the door of the first house she finds, intending to ask directions to the nearest hotel.
Instead, she is met by Trish Geiger, a spacey but kind housewife who thinks Samantha is her new housekeeper. Samantha is still confused about all the sudden changes taking place in her life, and decides to play along as housekeeper until she can sort things out. Only problem is- she has no domestic bones in her body. She gives it her all though, trying to master laundry, cooking, and cleaning, while trying not to let the Geiger’s stumble upon her true identity.
The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella has funny elements and charming characters, but the plot is a little out there. Kinsella finds a way to pull it off though, easily drawing me into the story and Samantha’s love interest with the gardener who knows she is not truly a housekeeper, and the element of mystery surrounding that unseen memo costing Samantha her career and promotion. Another witty novel from Sophie Kinsella.
Killer Deal by Sheryl J. Anderson

The ‘Sleuth in the City’ is back for more. Molly Forrester, our fashionable gossip column writing heroine, Molly Forrester, is still determined to make it as an investigative crime reporter. She gets another crack at it after getting the opportunity to interview the wealthy Gwen Lincoln, widow to Garth Henderson, advertising executive that was murdered. Molly is determined to find the killer: is it Gwen, the bitter ex wife? Or did the murder have something to do with the rumored buyout that Henderson was working on with a rival advertising company?
Killer Deal, the third novel in the Molly Forrester series by Sheryl J. Anderson, again brings the mystery, fashion, and a slew of colorful characters and suspects. Molly’s boyfriend, sexy NYPD homicide detective Kyle Edwards wants Molly to stay away from the crime scene to keep her out of danger. Molly struggles to make her boyfriend happy and keep herself happy and pushing towards what she wants to do for a career.
I have to say that I didn’t find Killer Deal quite as exciting and titillating as the first two novels, but I enjoyed following Molly’s story as she tries to get her byline while juggling her boyfriend and personal life. Anderson gives readers another light-hearted read that does an excellent job of mixing mystery and chick lit.
Jillian Michael’s Fitness Ultimatum 2009
I am so excited to buy Jillian Michael’s Fitness Ultimatum 2009 for my Wii system. This interactive system with The Biggest Loser trainer Jillian Michael’s has four different types of workouts one can choose: weight loss, strength training, intervals, and hill climb modes. Users are able to set their intensity and duration of workouts. The customization is great on this program, and you can see your statistics such as weight, calories burned; and see gym alternatives, traveling workouts, food substitutions, and cooking tips. This looks like a great workout, and I think it will be more of a challenge than the Wii fit because the variety and customization that users can utilize. I will post my review as soon as I try it out!

People Magazine has the interview, in which Agassi talks about his new memoir, Open, and his battle with addiction, his hair loss, the turbulent marriage with actress Brooke Shields, and how he found love with his current wife, Steffi Graf.
