Chick Lit Plus was started in October of 2009, and is devoted not only to books of the chick lit genre, but also interests of chick lit fans. Having so many different interests myself, it took me awhile to come up with a website that would tie all of them together. After discovering chick lit books about two years ago, I became fascinated with the different worlds I could escape to by opening the cover of books that were decorated with glamour, shoes, shopping bags, and of course- a loveable heroine. After reading an extensive collection, I decided I could turn my hobby into something useful, alas ChickLitPlus.com was created. Here there is book reviews, author information, and after surveying other readers, I choose the top three interests- celebrity gossip, fashion (of course) and health and fitness for others to read. I will keep on top of all the subjects, and promise that each review posted is my personal opinions, not just a review that can be pulled off of any site.
If there is any book that is not on this site and you would like to see reviewed, please email me the title and author and I will get that reviewed and posted. That is the same for any subject besides book review, you can email me any subjects you would like written about or questions you may have and I will do my best to answer those. I post all my book reviews on Amazon.com or Smashwords.com if applicable. I accept print books and digital copies for review. In return for posting book reviews, I only ask that the author will kindly link back to my page.

After two years of running ChickLitPlus, I decided the time was right to add an Associate Reviewer to the team! I am happy to welcome Sara Palacios to ChickLitPlus, and look forward to reading her reviews.
Sara Palacios is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a major in Advertising and a minor in English Literature. It was during her time in college that she really fell in love with the written word and ventured into writing her own stories. In addition to writing, Sara spends a majority of her time reading the works of other authors. She reads most genres – but thoroughly enjoys chick-lit, women’s, and historical fiction.
When she isn’t busy reading or writing, Sara enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is an avid animal-lover, runner, yoga enthusiast, wannabe vegan, USA soccer fan, foodie and fashion blog-lover, and Christian. She is happily married, the owner of two precious doggies and a first time mom to a handsome baby boy. If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to email her at firstname.lastname@example.org or follow her on twitter at twitter.com/clpassistant.
Lover of language and idioms, creator of narratives and weaver of words, random trivia geek and general know-it-all… Kate wears many hats. Communications Specialist is the permanent entrepreneurial cap. But the latest is ChickLit book reviewer, which seems to fit right in there with the rest. But she’s always looking for more to learn and greater heights to reach. Throwback time: “Butterfly in the sky, I can go twice as high./Take a look, it’s in a book. A reading rainbow.” This song has been stuck in her head for over 20 years? Reading Rainbow activated Kate’s young mind and opened a world of imagination and possibility through books. This belief that you can go anywhere and be anything has become a personal mantra. And she’s always trying on new hats, exploring new opportunities and looking for the next butterfly to beat. The values taught by old skool Sesame Street, Muppet Babies, Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood and Square One—the importance of individuality, pride in excellence, knowledge as power, creative innovation and ethical behavior—have guided Kate’s professional life. Reading is cool entertainment and Kate hopes to share that with all of you. Feel free to email, twitter or facebook her with questions and comments.
CLP welcomed aboard Rhonda in April 2013!
Rhonda lives on the east coast with her son, two German Shepherds and a Himalayan cat. When she’s not working or vacuuming up animal hair, she is usually reading. She rediscovered her love for reading once her son got his driver’s license and Mom’s Taxi was no longer needed. Although she considers herself to be an introvert, she has a competitive side and enjoys playing trivia, card games, and any word game (words with friends, ruzzle etc). She values honesty, friendships, and family.
CLP is expanding again! We welcomed in Joelle Rybakowski in June 2013!
Born & Raised in NJ. My background is in special education. I rediscovered my love for reading with the Harry Potter series as well as the purchase of my Kindle (literary crack). My boyfriend says I spend more time reading (when I am not riding my horse) and I say there are a lot worse things I could be doing. My passion is reading during a rainy day or on the beach across the street. I am a huge fan of chick lit, new adult, young adult, sci-fi, etc. I enjoy authors like Denise Grover Swank, Trisha Leigh, Leigh Bardugo, Jill Shalvis, etc. I am also a Goodreads addict!!! It is my pleasure to now be a part of the CLP family and I hope my reviews are taken in stride….
Published author Andrea Murray joined CLP in June 2013!
Andrea Murray is a graduate of Arkansas State University where she earned a BSE in English and an MA in English, and she has been an educator for over sixteen years. Though she currently teaches junior high language arts, she has taught just about every English-related subject possible, including elementary reading and college courses. When she isn’t grading papers, she writes young adult science fiction and is the author of the Vivid trilogy.
Andrea lives with her husband of eighteen years in a town so small it’s barely a dot on the map. If she isn’t reading, she’s chasing after her two children, watching bad sci-fi movies, or catching up on all her favorite reality television shows.
CLP welcomed Christy Lewis in June 2007!
I was born & raised in a small town in western North Carolina, best described as the halfway point between NYC and Miami. Growing up in a small southern town has its advantages, but it has its disadvantages, too. It’s a boring place, with a two-screen theater, 2 McDonalds, 1 Wal-Mart & about 12 dollar stores. That’s it. Growing up here, the only thing to do for fun was to read. I’ve loved to get lost in books since my mother read to me as a child. I live here with my husband, two boys, the world’s best Golden Retriever and a funny, high-maintenance shih-tzu rescue. One day soon, we hope to make the coast of NC our home and have the ocean as our playground.
After spending 17 years in nursing, through a series of random events (some call it unfortunate; I call it luck), I left my job and all of it’s security to pursue my true passion – photography. I’m in the midst of growing, building & marketing my own photography business and brand. Specializing in high school senior photography, I also photograph children and families, with an occasional wedding thrown in. I’m addicted to Diet Coke and peanut butter, and would wear flip-flops all year if I could.
I enjoy reading different genres, but my favorite is chick-lit. I like humorous books (think Stephanie Plum), love stories (can’t get enough of Nicholas Sparks), and have been known to read biographies – if it’s someone I’m interested in. I’m ever-changing, ever-growing, and always evolving. I remind myself of Lucille Ball’s character, “Lucy.” I try my best, but most of the time, I get in a little over my head – and that always proves to be exciting, and more often than not, pretty hysterical, especially if it’s something I’m passionate about. I’m full of opinions, so take my reviews for what they’re worth – just an opinion of a small town girl who likes to read.
Terry Mitchell joined the CLP team in June 2013!
Here’s a little about me. My name is Terry. I am a Stay at home mom of 2….well ok 3 if you count our 5 year old lab Maggie…which I do. My kids are 16 and 11…16 year old girl, 11 year old boy. We live up in South Dakota-the heart of the black hills! I am a stay at home mom…….so why do I just stay at home? , my youngest has Epilepsy, he at the age of 4, begun having seizures. It is mainly controlled by meds, but he often requires a lot of attention, as well as constant help in many areas. He is one of my blessing’s in life, and the way he handles his challenge makes him my hero. I would rather spend every day of my life making sure he is the strongest person he can be, then sitting in an office at a computer…..So I am one of those blessed girls that gets to spend my free time with my passions, reading and photography, which is what brings me here! I am thrilled to get to be a part Chicklitplus and share my reviews with all of you!
Sandy Steckler joined CLP in June 2013!
I am proud to be from the Heartland although I wish it would be warmer here. I was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and I am currently living with my husband, John. I have three terrific children (2 sons and 1 daughter) who have all grown up and left the nest and I have one granddaughter who is currently 7 months old. I really was not too excited as my children left the house and made their way out into the world, even though they all live within 30 minutes of our home, as I missed their daily chatter and our interactions but I realized they needed to go. I am so thankful for technology as text messaging and emails keeps them close by without long talks on the phone. I have a BS in Education and a BBA in Accounting w/a CPA Certificate, and I am a part-time substitute teacher and part-time accountant. I enjoy both jobs, as they give me the flexibility I want and some great challenges that I desire. As a substitute, I enjoy the light-bulb moments the students have, our talks and opening their eyes to new ideas and experiences. I am forever coming home with pockets full of Post-it notes with books titles that I should read as I listen to them express their favorite books to me and in return I get to tell them what great YA books I have come across that they should pick up, it’s great!
My love of reading has grown over the years and now I am just in love with reading. I remember reading a few Judy Blume books when I was younger but reading became more meaningful as I read to my children as they were growing up. With my youngest son, we used to read chapter books on long car rides and I think I enjoyed those books just as much as he did. Crispin and the Cirque Du Freak books will forever hold a place in my heart. Currently, I read just about anything that looks good except for Harlequin romance books with YA titles being my favorite. Last year I read 142 books (according to Goodreads) and that is not including all the monthly magazines that I subscribe to also. I also love to garden, bike ride, kayak, hang out with friends and family, cook, check out Pinterest, and just being outside enjoying the sun.
I am excited to be part of Chicklitplus and I hope you enjoy my reviews.
Allie Smith joined the CLP team in June 2013!
I was born on Cape Cod, where I lived for half of my childhood, until my family relocated to South Florida. I’m a graduate of the University of South Florida, where I earned a BS in Accounting and Florida Atlantic University, where I earned a Masters of Accounting. Once upon a time, I was also a CPA. It only took me five years of working in Corporate America to conclude I wasn’t a fan of accounting! I gave up the career to be a stay at home. I’m married and the mother of four crazy children (which they get it from me). Reading and writing are my escape from reality, my therapy and my passion. I write for a local magazine, My Forsyth, and my blog, www.TheLatchkeyMom.com.
I’m a voracious reader who loves a happy ending. In addition to chick lit, I read woman’s fiction, memoirs, biographies, and nonfiction books about autism, parenting, health, fitness and aging. I take great pride in having an amazing circle of friends. Other fun Allie facts: I’m an autism mom (which is a strong breed), special needs champion, part-time exercise enthusiast, recovering vegetarian, Kid Rock fan, dreamer, former sun worshipper, wine drinker, coffee addict, Patriots and Red Sox fanatic, politically independent, and a road warrior (which is also another blog I write) with a bad case of wanderlust.
