Meet CLP

Chick Lit Plus was started in October of 2009, and is devoted not only to books of the chick lit genre, but also interests of chick lit fans. Having so many different interests myself, it took me awhile to come up with a website that would tie all of them together. After discovering chick lit books about two years ago, I became fascinated with the different worlds I could escape to by opening the cover of books that were decorated with glamour, shoes, shopping bags, and of course- a loveable heroine. After reading an extensive collection, I decided I could turn my hobby into something useful, alas ChickLitPlus.com was created. Here there is book reviews, author information, and after surveying other readers, I choose the top three interests- celebrity gossip, fashion (of course) and health and fitness for others to read. I will keep on top of all the subjects, and promise that each review posted is my personal opinions, not just a review that can be pulled off of any site.

If there is any book that is not on this site and you would like to see reviewed, please email me the title and author and I will get that reviewed and posted. That is the same for any subject besides book review, you can email me any subjects you would like written about or questions you may have and I will do my best to answer those. I post all my book reviews on Amazon.com or Smashwords.com if applicable. I accept print books and digital copies for review. In return for posting book reviews, I only ask that the author will kindly link back to my page.

Founder:

Samantha March is an author, editor, publisher, blogger, and all around book lover. She runs the popular book/women’s lifestyle blog ChickLitPlus, which keeps her bookshelf stocked with the latest reads and up to date on all things health, fitness, fashion, and celebrity related. In 2011 she launched her independent publishing company Marching Ink and has two published novels – Destined to Fail and The Green Ticket. When she isn’t reading, writing, or blogging, you can find her cheering for the Green Bay Packers.

Associate Reviewer:

After two years of running ChickLitPlus, I decided the time was right to add an Associate Reviewer to the team! I am happy to welcome Sara Palacios to ChickLitPlus, and look forward to reading her reviews.

Sara Palacios is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a major in Advertising and a minor in English Literature. It was during her time in college that she really fell in love with the written word and ventured into writing her own stories. In addition to writing, Sara spends a majority of her time reading the works of other authors.  She reads most genres  – but thoroughly enjoys chick-lit, women’s, and historical fiction.

When she isn’t busy reading or writing, Sara enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is an avid animal-lover, runner, yoga enthusiast, wannabe vegan, USA soccer fan, foodie and fashion blog-lover, and Christian. She is happily married, the owner of two precious doggies and a first time mom to a handsome baby boy. If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to email her at chicklitplus@gmail.com or follow her on twitter at twitter.com/clpassistant.

CLP is excited to keep on growing! In February 2013 we welcomed another Associate Reviewer to the family – Tammy Price!

For as long as Tammy Price can remember, she’s loved to read.  Whether sneaking in a book by the light outside her bedroom window, or fitting in one more chapter before heading out with friends, Tammy makes sure her book friends are always near by.  Graduating from SUU with degrees in English and Communications, Tammy not only loves to read, but spends a little time each day writing.  She one day hopes to write her own Chick Lit book to be reviewed on this site.

Not letting the girls in the books she reads have all the fun, Tammy also enjoys movies/ TV, playing practical jokes, football and Bradley Cooper.  Living in a cute basement apartment with her cat, and working as a part time event coordinator, she is always ready to start a new adventure in life.

kate stephensonCLP is thrilled to welcome Kate Stephenson on board starting March 2013!

Lover of language and idioms, creator of narratives and weaver of words, random trivia geek and general know-it-all… Kate wears many hats. Communications Specialist is the permanent entrepreneurial cap. But the latest is ChickLit book reviewer, which seems to fit right in there with the rest. But she’s always looking for more to learn and greater heights to reach. Throwback time: “Butterfly in the sky, I can go twice as high./Take a look, it’s in a book. A reading rainbow.” This song has been stuck in her head for over 20 years? Reading Rainbow activated Kate’s young mind and opened a world of imagination and possibility through books. This belief that you can go anywhere and be anything has become a personal mantra. And she’s always trying on new hats, exploring new opportunities and looking for the next butterfly to beat. The values taught by old skool Sesame Street, Muppet Babies, Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood and Square One—the importance of individuality, pride in excellence, knowledge as power, creative innovation and ethical behavior—have guided Kate’s professional life. Reading is cool entertainment and Kate hopes to share that with all of you. Feel free to email, twitter or facebook her with questions and comments.

CLP welcomed aboard Rhonda in April 2013!

Rhonda lives on the east coast with her son, two German Shepherds and a Himalayan cat. When she’s not working or vacuuming up animal hair, she is usually reading. She rediscovered her love for reading once her son got his driver’s license and Mom’s Taxi was no longer needed. Although she considers herself to be an introvert, she has a competitive side and enjoys playing trivia, card games, and any word game (words with friends, ruzzle etc).  She values honesty, friendships, and family.
