TugSummary:

When Alex Plummer suddenly became a widow and a single mother at the young age of thirty, she swore she’d never love another man again. The pain from losing her husband had broken her heart beyond repair. But she carried on, and remained strong for her son. With time, she learned how to live a functional life again. She had everything she needed. A loving son, a promising career, and a best friend that put others to shame. And there was no room for anything or anyone else in her life. Period. Alex’s controlled lifestyle was contested when she met Nicky, her best friend’s cousin. They quickly realized their attraction to one another was different and beyond control. Like Alex, Nicky suffered a loss when his fiancé dumped him after his hockey career ended. He vowed to be alone, so he could heal from the pain of his break up. He wasn’t going to let another woman wreck his life again. When Alex and Nicky’s lives collided, they realized they had one thing in common…heartache. However, they were too stubborn to admit that they wanted and needed each other. Alex wasn’t looking to fill a void, so she closed her heart off. And Nicky didn’t want to trust another woman, so the idea of a relationship wasn’t even on his radar. They were determined to keep a safe distance from one another. But Fate had other ideas in mind for Alex and Nicky. No matter how hard they tried, they couldn’t go their separate ways. Can Alex and Nicky overcome their hurtful pasts, and accept love into their hearts again? Or will they continue to build walls to keep each other out? This is a sweet story about love and second chances.

Review:

Katherine Glick proves that she deserves a spot on our “To-Be-Read” Lists…and, in our Beach Bag’s this summer. I just love when I read an author’s first novel, and I am totally blown away. I am anxiously awaiting her next novels.

Alex Plummer has a wonderfully cozy life in Wilmington, NC with her husband, Aaron and son, Dylan. They have a dog, Brutus and a lovely home. Alex and Aaron met in college, married, had a son and were leading the life most people dream of.

Until the day Sheriff Williams and his partner knocked on her door to tell her that Aaron died in a car accident.

Then life was not so dreamy.  When your heart breaks wide open as Alex’s did on the day that Aaron died, things cannot ever be the same. Life will never be as cozy. Life cannot ever be so full of love….

Or, can it?

Can love enter your life twice? Can you truly be given a second chance?

And, if offered the second chance, would Alex even take it?

This is an engrossing story that will “tug” at your heartstrings.

#BookReview: All Access (The Fangirl Series Book 1) by Liberty Kontranowski

Reviewer: Annie

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

All AccessSummary:

Every fangirl has a fantasy . . . what happens when that “if only” dream comes true?

Though she’s a single mom wedged firmly into thirty-something territory, author Kallie Reagan’s devotion to rock star Niles Russell knows no bounds. To pay homage to her muse, Kallie writes a smokin’ hot novel featuring a hero who looks and acts an awful lot like Niles — and a heroine who may or may not have a smattering of herself thrown in for fun.

When Niles learns about the book and surprise-texts Kallie, the two deliciously complicated creatives become fast friends . . . and so much more. But trying to define a relationship that’s laced with closeted skeletons, half-truths, and constant question marks proves harder than making it big. If they’re going to progress from Fangirl Infatuation to The Real Deal, these two need to give each other All Access to the most important place of all: their hearts.

Review:

This book arrived just in time for the summer-must-read list!! Grab this book, head to the beach, cabin or wherever you don’t mind staying for a while, and enjoy this totally fun book!

I have to tell you that once you begin this book, you will not want to put it down for the mere fact that it is such a dreamy story! I was in love with this entire book, from the writing to the characters and the overall feel of the story. It just made me happy!

What girl does not have a crush on some famous guy? You know, the one you dream about? (Mine is Channing Tatum..lol)

Well, Kallie Reagan does not have to dream about her famous crush, she gets to meet him; in person. Date him. Learn about him. Share things with him. Establish a relationship….I won’t tell you what kind of relationship…You will have to read this book to find out!

Niles is my Channing! Maybe some dreams do come  true? or, do they work out as they do in your dreams?

#BookReview: I Promise You This by Patricia Sands

Reviewer: Annie

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I Promise you ThisSummary:

Suddenly single after twenty-two years of marriage, the calm of Katherine Price’s midlife has turned upside down. Seeking to find her true self, she took a chance on starting over. A year later, she is certain of this: she’s in love with Philippe and adores his idyllic French homeland, where he wants her to live with him.

But all that feels like a fantasy far removed from Toronto, where she’s helping her friend Molly, hospitalized after a life-threatening accident. Staying in her childhood home full of memories, Katherine wonders: Is she really ready to leave everything behind for an unknown life abroad? And if all her happiness lies with Philippe, will it last? Can she trust in love again?

Searching her heart, Katherine finds the pull of the familiar is stronger than she thought. An unexpected meeting with her ex, the first time since his cruel departure, and a stunning declaration of love from an old flame spur her introspection.

With sunlit backdrops and plot twists as breathtaking as the beaches of Antibes, author Patricia Sands brings her trilogy about second chances to a provocative and satisfying close that proves that a new life just might be possible—if you’re willing to let your heart lead you home.

Review:

Patricia Sands delivers the third novel in her wondrous “Love in Provence” Series.
It is stunningly captivating!
She truly captures the essence of each character’s heart and soul; so much so, that you really feel as if you have befriended them. I mean, if you read the first two books in this series…I know you have been waiting to find out what happens in Kat’s (Katherine) life next…just as I was! Ok, and Phillipe.
In this book, Kat is called back to Toronto because her best friend, Molly is severely injured in an accident. She leaves the love of her life, Phillipe in France.  Once again, Kat is put in situations that will really make her have to decide a lot about her life and the choices she will make moving forward.  I love how she weaves her way through these decisions. She is not one to take anything lightly.
Will Kat be called back to France? To Phillipe? Where will she decide home really is?  Sit back, and take this trip with Kat. You will be mesmerized!
I want to say so much more, but it would not be fair. I must add though, that I must now go visit France, and travel in Kat’s footsteps, and devour the same foods and wines that she did.  Maybe Patricia needs to do a “Love in Provence” Tour!! (Hint, hint)
Sometimes less in more in a review! Trust Me.
