Book Review: Adventures in Dating by Sara Rishforth

adventuresindatingReviewer: Emma

The Adventures of Dating is a charming story about a woman named Kari who has recently moved to Anchorage, Alaska from Charleston, South Carolina. Despite having two very good friends, she cannot seem to find her perfect match. Through out the book you experience many different dates with Kari – blind dates, internet dates and even speed dates. Who says you can’t find love in seven minutes or less?

At work, Kari finds a best friend in Jack. He is handsome, witty, and shares her love for food. They grab lunch together, enjoy morning coffee runs, and text frequently. Her best friend Lauren’s main goal in life is to find Kari a date. They enjoy going to step class together and living vicariously through each others lives.

As the reader, I enjoyed the descriptions and information on Alaska. I have always wanted to visit there. I connected with Kari almost instantly. The story is addicting and made me want to continue reading at the end of each chapter. I liked that the chapters were short, and I was able to relate with all of the characters. I thought I had the book all figured out, but it did not turn out the way I had thought, which was a pleasant surprise.

I really enjoyed this book, and I was happy to read a book with a setting in Alaska. It was a very fun read. I am giving this book a 4 out of 5 stars. It would have gotten all 5 stars from me, but I thought at some times the writing was a bit corny. If you enjoy chicklits, check out this book!! A definite recommendation from me! 🙂
