#BookReview: The Broken Hearts Honeymoon by Lucy Dickens

About the Book

When disaster strikes, adventure calls…

Charlotte had a plan. The perfect country wedding, followed by a month-long honeymoon in Japan – but when her fiancé starts having second thoughts, she knows there’s no choice but to call off the wedding.

Charlotte isn’t sure she knows how to be single, but she is going to try, starting with taking that trip of a lifetime – alone.

Will she find herself in the hills of Mount Fuji, or in the karaoke bars of Tokyo?

And will she be ready for romance by the time the cherry blossom flowers?

My Review

I had such a good time reading this book, and it even gave me a little travel thrill, this being the year 2020 and all. Charlotte is rocked when she learns her fiancé is having second thoughts on their upcoming nuptials, and decides she will take their planned honeymoon – that really just she planned – on her own. Adventure has always been in her soul, but she has somehow lost her way over the years. Determined to get some of that back, she embarks on a trip that makes her see a little clearer and her life become a little brighter. I had the best time following Charlotte, from the initial awkwardness of joining a honeymoon group tour solo, from having a fun fling post-karaoke night, and finding her independence and confidence again. This story was full of life lessons smooshed in amongst the beautiful scenery and tales of Japan, and I would highly recommend!
