Hilary Duff Writing Novels

Hilary Duff is adding author to her growing list of titles. The actress/singer/designer, 22, has signed on to write a series of young adult novels for Simon & Schuster, according to People.com. The first novel, to be titled Elixir, will follow the adventures of a globe-trotting photojournalist named Clea Raymond, and will be released October12th. The newly engaged Duff will also be writing a nonfiction book about children coping with divorce, due out in 2012.

Brooke Burke to Co-Host Dancing With the Stars

When Dancing With the Stars returns on March 22^nd, a new face will be joining Tom Bergeron as co-host. Brooke Burke, who won Season 7 with partner Derek Hough, has been selected to take over duties for past host Samantha Harris. The news was announced Monday on Good Morning America.

Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart Welcome Daughter

McSteamy is officially a father! Eric Dane and wife Rebecca Gayheart welcomed their first child together, a daughter. People.com reports the baby was born on Wednesday, and no name has been released yet. The couple has been married since 2004.

Joey Lawrence Welcomes Second Daughter

It’s another girl for Joey Lawrence and wife Chandi Yawn-Nelson. The couple welcomed their second daughter on Thursday, Liberty Grace Lawrence, reported People.com. The baby weighed in 6 lbs., 8 oz and joined sister Charleston, 3 ½.

Christina Milian Welcomes Daughter

It’s a girl for Christina Milian! The R&B singer, 28, and husband, rapper The Dream, welcomed daughter Violet on Friday, People.com has confirmed.  The couple married in September and announced their pregnancy in October. This is the first child for Milian and the fourth for The Dream, who has three children with ex-wife, singer Nivea.

Jennie Garth to Write Children’s Books

Another cast member of Beverly Hills: 90210 is going to be a children’s author! Jennie Garth has followed in the footsteps of former co-star Tori Spelling and will pen her own children’s books, according to Usmagazine. Garth says, “I just signed a two-book deal to start my own children’s books.” The books will be aimed at children aged 3-8 and will be first released February of 2011. Negotiations are still in the process of what exactly the books will be about.

The actress, 37, is a mother to three girls- Luca, 12, Lola, 7, and Fiona, 3, and his married to actor Peter Facinelli.

Marie Osmond’s Son Commits Suicide

Marie Osmond’s teenaged son Michael Blosil has killed himself, People.com has reported. Blosil reportedly leaped to his death around 9 pm on Friday, and left a suicide note behind, citing his long battle with severe depression as a cause for the suicide. A rep for both Marie and brother Donny Osmond has confirmed that their Las Vegas show at the Flamingo Hotel has been canceled for Saturday, and will be on an indefinite hiatus.

Jim Carrey a Grandpa!

Jim Carrey is getting a new name: Grandpa! The comedic actor, 47, has officially become a grandparent, People.com has reported, after his daughter Jane Carrey gave birth to her son on Friday. Jane and husband Alex Santana welcomed Jackson Riley Santana, at 12:28 a.m. Friday in Los Angeles. The baby boy weighed in at 7 lbs., 11 oz, and measured 20 inches long.

Simon Cowell is Engaged

Here’s a shocker: Simon Cowell is engaged. The American Idol judge, 50, is engaged to makeup artist Mezhgan Hussainy after denying the rumor for weeks. Multiple insiders confirmed the engagement to Usmagazine, and Hussainy confirmed the news herself early on Friday. The couple started dating last October around Cowell’s 50^th birthday, where she was his date for his birthday party in London. I am just so happy this is finally confirmed after all the denying, even though she was wearing what appears to be an engagement ring and he was calling her The One in interviews. Hello obvious.
