My First 5K: Week 13: Cotton Balls

Last week I was talking about my ears, and the issues that I have with pain when I am running outdoors. Well, last week the fiancé and I went running outside again, and I stuck just a small piece of cotton in each ear. It worked like a charm! I was able to run outside with absolutely no issues. I was considering buying some ear plugs, but I was worried about not being able to hear as well. With the cotton I could hear perfectly fine, and I kept forgetting I even had anything in my ears. I will definitely be using that on race day – less than a month away! Below is my workout schedule for the week. Bold is what I would normally complete, non-bold is from my training schedule.

Monday: Run 10 minutes, walk 10 minutes, 30 minute Yoga DVD

Tuesday: Walk 15 minutes, 50 sit-ups, 30 minute elliptical, 20 minute incline treadmill walk

Wednesday: Run 15 minutes, walk 15 minutes, 30 minute incline treadmill walk

Thursday: Walk 15 minutes, 50 sit-ups, 60 minute elliptical, 30 minute cardio DVD

Friday: Day Off

Saturday: 20 minute incline treadmill walk

Sunday: Run 15 minutes, walk 20 minutes
