Meet CLP: Michelle in the Spotlight

As CLP celebrates 5 years, I have to spotlight the fabulous reviewers on my team that help me keep up with the high demands of running a book blog! I definitely could not keep this site as up to date and filled with book reviews and content if it weren’t for my fabulous team! Today, we spotlight Michelle!

michelleWhy were you interested in joining CLP as a reviewer?

CLP seemed like such a great, likeable blog. I’ve always wanted to be part of one but never found any that would be a great fit. I love having the opportunity to be part of such an awesome blog!

Can you name one or two of your favorite books that you’ve reviewed for CLP?

This is tough. I really liked the book I just finished called The Right Design. It was a change of pace for me, as I’ve been reading a ton of horse books lately. I loved the main character, Carrie. She was such a strong, successful woman and I admire that.

Besides reading, what hobbies do you enjoy?

I recently starting riding horses again, a hobby I had back when I was younger. After the loss of my Grandmother in 2013 I really took a hold of my life, deciding that I needed to find time to do the things I love and enjoy. After starting to ride again, I felt so much more fulfilled. Life is too short to not do things you love.

What has been one of your favorite birthday celebrations?

My birthday is November 1st and although most people remember recent birthdays, I can recall one from when I was younger that I will never forget. My parents took me to Toys R Us when I was probably 8(ish) and allowed me to pick out ANYTHING I wanted. Can you believe that?? I’m pretty sure I picked out some animal toys, since that’s all I wanted in those days. My birthday is this coming Saturday, let’s hope I can top THAT!

More About Michelle

Michelle Guy joined CLP in April 2014!

My first memories of reading are from first grade when our teacher rewarded us with books/couch time when our work was finished. I haven’t looked back since! I’m a strong believer in children’s literacy and libraries and believe it’s because I was blessed enough to be surrounded by books when I was young. I love laughing. If a book can make me laugh it’s definitely a favorite! I read mostly contemporary, chick-lit and historical fiction but I am up for any genre if the topic is interesting. I’m obsessed with Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and although I don’t have one right now I WILL within two years! I am so excited to be a part of Chick Lit Plus!
