Just the Facts by Ellen Sherman – September 8, 2015. Set in 1978, this story is about rookie reporter Nora Plowright. Nora is a recent earnest college graduate who’s learning the tricks of the reporting trade at a small Maryland newspaper. She’s not comfortable with covering hard news, believing her talents are better suited to the lighter side of life – weddings, society events, and school bans of potato chips. After she stumbles upon a political scandal, her trial-by-fire bylines are front page news. While writing about sleazy politicians, Nora’s also dealing with her parents many problems and some unworthy suitors. All the while, she struggles to remember why she wanted to be a writer in the first place – to tell stories about people who need a voice.
First and Goal by Laura Chapman – September 9, 2015. Harper Duquaine is having a tough time fitting in at work. Her no-nonsense approach rubs her coworkers the wrong way. In a cruel twist of fate, Louisa has an accident that lands her back home with her parents, to convalesce. Although her body heals, Louisa’s heart cannot. She joins a grief support group in an effort to move on. After she meets Sam, a paramedic who deals with loss as a part of his job, Louisa begins to believe she’ll love again. But then someone from Will’s past shows up and Louisa finds her life spinning out of control once again.
Winter Stroll by Elin Hilderbrand – October 6, 2016. This is the sequel to Hildebrand’s 2015 Christmas novella, Winter Street. It’s a year later and Christmas time on Nantucket. The Quinn clan is gearing up for the annual Christmas stroll, which this year coincides with the baptism of the first Quinn grandchild. Not all is merry and bright, as several members of the family are in crisis. Margaret and Kelly, parents of Patrick, Kevin, and Ava, are back together. Or are they? Kelley’s estranged second wife (and mother of Bart) is falling apart over Bart’s MIA status in Afghanistan. Margaret’s former boyfriend is also back on the scene, causing more trouble for her reunion with Kelley. Patrick is in jail for insider trading and his wife is popping pills. Ava’s life appears to be finally falling into place, when a wild boy from her past threatens to destroy her happiness. Only Kevin’s life, with the birth of his daughter Genevieve, seems happy – until his ex-wife comes to town. Poor baby Genevieve. With so much family tension, there’s bound to be some drama at her baptism.
