Is a Newlyweds Part 2 in the making? Jessica Simpson announced that she is engaged to free agent NFL player Eric Johnson. People.com released this statement from the couple’s rep: “Yes, we are excited to confirm that they are engaged!” Simpson, 30, and Johnson, 31, began dating in May after being introduced by friends.

Simpson’s engagement news comes just days after her ex-husband, Nick Lachey, announced his engagement to long time girlfriend, Vanessa Minnillo.
