I was provided with a copy of THE RUTH VALLEY MISSING by Amber West in exchange for an honest review.
Jameson Quinn is over trying to find herself in the big city. And, after a gallery opening ends badly with a trip to the ER and an argument with her self-involved boyfriend, she leaves for greener pastures and needs the peace and quiet of a small town — Ruth Valley. Ruth Valley has everything Jameson needs: kind people, peaceful surroundings and safety, or at least the feeling of it. She also lucks out and finds a stellar house to rent from the town’s most eligible bachelor, Sheriff Jack. Things are finally looking up, but something feels off. It is only a matter of time before things go to bizarre after a young man disappears. Will she figure out what is really going on before it is too late?
I had so much fun reading THE RUTH VALLEY MISSING and I thought that Amber did such an amazing job at crafting real characters and settings. I loved the tale of Jameson adjusting to life back in the small town after being in the big city for a while. But, it seems to be exactly what she needs … until it isn’t. The pace was quick in this book and I am thankful because I was eager to find out what the heck was actually going on. There is so much mystery and intrigue and the creepy priest had me on edge and I couldn’t handle it. Just another example of great writing by Amber. Overall, this book is very entertaining and definitely not like something I would normally read, but I am so glad that I gave it a chance. I think you will be glad too.
I sure hope she is in the process of writing another…I loved the book and like you, not one I would typically have read, but I loved it! I usually stick with my favorite authors and they keep me busy enough, but because of the free kindle book offer I downloaded it and am soooo glad I did. Now I am waiting on her next one..I’m a fan!
