Website Review: ScoreBig.com

Contributor: Samantha

I recently was asked to review a newer website ScoreBig.com and my interest was immediately raised. I had seen a little about this site online, so when asked to give it a shot in exchange for my feedback, I jumped at the chance. What is the site? Here is what they say:

scorebigAbout ScoreBig

ScoreBig.com enables consumers to get great tickets for live sports, concert and theater events – at guaranteed savings of up to 60 percent. ScoreBig.com customers pick their own price on seats from the floor to the rafters, always pay less than box office price, and never pay any fees. For its partners, ScoreBig.com is the first and only opaque sales channel to move unsold ticket inventory in a way that protects the ticket owner’s brand and full-price sales. Headquartered in Los Angeles, Calif., ScoreBig.com was founded in 2009 and is backed by Bain Capital Ventures and U.S. Venture Partners. ScoreBig.com was recently recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Most Promising Companies and by Billboard as one of the 10 Best Start-ups of 2012.

scorebig1So what are my thoughts? It’s a pretty slick site, fast and user-friendly. My downfall was that I couldn’t find a sporting event that I was interested in, as the game I will be going to in July was already sold out on their website. There are still tickets out there, just not on ScoreBig.com. So it won’t be a guarantee that the event you want to go to will be available on the site, but it’s definitely worth heading there first to see.

When you type in your bid, the site will tell you if it’s too low and will probably get rejected. This is nice, because if a bid is rejected, you have to wait 24 hours to bid on the same tickets again – and remember, they appear to go fast on this site. You do get immediate confirmation if your bid is accepted, and your credit card will be charged. If it is rejected, wait a day and try again.

The discount didn’t seem too extreme – mine was around $15 or so, but ever bit helps. I also got the tickets crazy fast – I ordered them on a Monday afternoon and they were delivered to my door by Wednesday afternoon.

Overall, I was impressed with the site and would buy again if tickets that I am looking for are available.
