We’ve had an awfully cold/long winter here in New England so I’ve been on the hunt for a new sunless tanning lotion to help me get through! Being tan is one of my favorite parts about summer. I no longer use tanning beds so I now have to improvise. There are a million different sunless tanning lotions out there, so how do you choose? I actually found this one through Jessie James Decker’s twitter (I love her!) and decided to buy it a few weeks ago. It’s L’Oreal Sublime Bronze Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion. I chose the “Medium-Deep” tan. I’m pretty fair skinned so I was afraid of this at first, but the color is very natural! I made sure to exfoliate all over and chose an all-natural unscented lotion to moisturize with. I noticed that if you don’t exfoliate well you will get streaks. It’s also better to use a circular motion. It’s best to apply lightly on places like your elbows, ankles and behind your knees and be sure to wash your hands after!
I found the color shows up pretty fast and is easily buildable. I’ve yet to master what to do about my hands; it’s hard to not make the self-tanner obvious! One bad thing about it is that it will stain towels. I haven’t had any incidents with clothes or sheets yet. I did not use it on my face for fear of breaking out. A good face bronzer works just fine to help blend, I use Too Faced Chocolate Soleil (I’ll be sure to review that soon!)
This lotion costs $10.99 at Ulta, but I believe it’s cheaper at Walmart. The smell is odd, but not horrible. Compared to Jergen’s, which is a household favorite, the color appears much faster.
Great informations on tanning lotion. I love L’Oreal Sublime Bronze Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion. That is great!
