Review:

Riley MacPherson’s life is slowly falling apart. After a break-up with her longtime boyfriend, she learns that her loving father has died suddenly at the grocery store. As she heads back to her home town of New Bern, she soon learns that she has to face more than just his tragic death. She reunites with her brother. suffering from PTSD. He is angry and unapproachable, much different than he used to be as a child. Before IT happened.

As Riley starts to clean out her father’s house, she begins to unpack her wild family history. She grew up thinking her sister died when she was two from drowning. She thought her dad was a single man, with a seemingly monotonous life. She thought her brother was angry because of his experiences in the service. She thought…

As she uplifts the fake covering of her and her family’s life, she learns more than she ever knew or wanted to. Her family is nothing that it seems. The secrets are endless and twisted.

This book is the best I have read this year. The characters were extremely well developed and the mystery was excellent. The plot progressed at a page turning pace and I hardly ever wanted to stop reading. There were so many twists to the book, many unexpected.

If you enjoy mysteries, this is definitely the book for you! I HIGHLY recommend it, and I would love to read more from this author.

5 out of 5 stars!
