I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Summary:
Haunted by her experience at The Fed, Caroline tries to create a new identity. A new present, a new future. She can’t escape the memories that dog her when she least expects it, leaving her mired in a depression that she finds difficult to escape. Caroline needs to regain her physical and mental strength if she intends on surviving the journey to find the elusive rebellion. But that’s easier said than done with the ghosts of the past constantly whispering in her ear.
The road is long and dangerous, and there are no guarantees. She and her companions have no idea what they will find when they arrive at their destination. And what they finally discover may change everything.
Part Three of a Six Part Saga. Sojourn (approximately 89,000 words) is not a standalone and must be read after the first two books in the series. Ends in a cliffhanger. For readers 18+. This book contains adult situations including explicit sex and violence.
Review:
“Sojourn” is Book 3 in the Bellator Saga, and they just keep getting better. Each book brings the characters more to life, and you meet new characters that you grow to love!!!
Be sure to read the other two before moving on to this one. You will be happy you did! These books grip you from the beginning to the very last page…and, then you wait as “patiently” as you can for the next book in the series. This is a six book series, so jump in now. I promise you will be a fan.
The book begins with three revolutionaries trying to help our heroine, Caroline Gerard back to health after leaving “The Fed”. She is both physically and emotionally done for. She has a long road to recovery.
She tries to believe that the love of her life, Jack McIntyre and her girls are doing well. There is a great story of love between the pages of this saga. (and, a saga it truly is)
Her struggles are real. Her hope is alive. Her love is strong. Her resolve is stronger.
I enjoyed being back in the swing of things in the life of Caroline in this futuristic, dark tale. Like I have said before, these types of stories don’t jump out at me; ever, to read. But, once again, I realize that Cecilia London can deliver this type of book, and have it seem so real that you see it in your head like you would a movie.
When dealing with depression and dark thoughts surround you constantly, can you come out better than before?
Caroline Gerard is a Hero of mine! All of Cecilia London’s characters are complex, and so well-developed that you truly begin to feel a connection to them.
Once you finish the last word in this book, you will eagerly await the next book in this series.
I know I am.
