My Review
When I hear the words “family drama” I will now picture this novel. Beth Fraser has an intensely complicated life, starting with her parents and the con life she’d known since a small child. Now an adult with a successful career and company and a sweet daughter, Dana, Beth wants to forget her past once and for all. But when her parents reappear back in her life, the façade begins to crack. With Dana now involved, Beth is pulled back into her old life and forced to make decisions that will alter her and Dana’s life forever.
A Mother’s Lie was a pretty intense read, told in dueling POVs between mother and daughter. There were several times where I wondered about unreliable narrators and really had no idea where the next chapter was going to lead us. The writing was intense and quick, though sometimes I did have a few questions or red flags about the plot. Overall though, I really enjoyed this thriller and it definitely made me feel a lot of ways while reading.
