About the Book
It all happens so quickly. One day you’re living the dream, commuting to work by ferry with your charismatic neighbor Kit in the seat beside you. The next, Kit hasn’t turned up for the boat and his wife, Melia, has reported him missing.
When you get off at your stop, the police are waiting. Another passenger saw you and Kit arguing on the boat home the night before and the police say that you had a reason to want him dead. You protest. You and Kit are friends—ask Melia, she’ll vouch for you. And who exactly is this other passenger pointing the finger? What do they know about your lives?
No, whatever danger followed you home last night, you are innocent, totally innocent.
My Review
I have read Louise Candlish prior, and enjoy her psychological thrillers. The Other Passenger sounded intriguing when I read the synopsis, though the beginning started off a little slow for me to really become hooked. While there are plenty of twists and turns and one particularly shocking move that made me gasp aloud, the pacing wasn’t as quick as I’ve found her other novels to be which made the storyline muddle along for me at times. I still wanted to finish the book and I’m glad I did because the final third really starts to pick up steam and I became quite curious to piece all the links together. A decent thriller but not a favorite.
