Tennis star Anna Kournikova is seeing her family pushed into the spotlight- for all the wrong reasons. Anna’s mother- Alla Kournikova, was arrested on Tuesday and put in jail on charges of child neglect after leaving her 5 year old son home alone. A neighbor of Kournikova’s $2 million Palm Beach home called the police after seeing the boy “soaking wet and walking in front of his house, acting very upset.” People.com also reports the affidavit as saying the child “had jumped out of a window.” Anna’s half brother, Allen, told police he “jumped out of the second story window” and he entered the family swimming pool because his “feet hurt.” The second story roof was found to be 15 feet high, and Allen had landed onto white stones after he had jumped, causing bruising to his feet and lower back.
Where was Alla Kournikova during the time she had left her son alone? Police reports show that the 46 year old had run errands to the bank and post office and was gone for about 50 minutes. She did say that she dead bolted the door and gave Allen a cell phone, and did not take her son with her because “he did not want to go.” Kournikova, an aspiring Palm Beach socialite, was eventually released from jail on $3,000 bond for the third-degree felony.
