Tiger Woods has released another statement on his personal website amidst claims on infidelities and domestic disputes. The 33 year old golf champion had this to say, “I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone. Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect. But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don't share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one's own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn't have to mean public confessions. Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it's difficult. I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology.”
Nick Jonas is going it alone. The youngest of the group, Nick, 17, has announced five concert dates with his side project, Nick Jonas & The Administration. Tickets for the concerts, which will be performed in more “intimate” venues than where The Jonas Brother performed, will go on sale Saturday. Dates for the show are as followed: Dallas (Jan. 2), Nashville (Jan 4), Washington, D.C. (Jan. 6), New York City (Jan. 7) and Chicago (Jan. 17). Usmagazine reports that Jonas will be singing songs off of the group’s upcoming album Who I Am, which will come out February 2nd. This does not mean the Jonas Brothers are breaking up. Nick took to his MySpace blog and had this to say, “We've said from the beginning of our career as the Jonas Brothers that anything we do outside of the group is a side project because you can't break up brothers. My brothers are my biggest supporters, and were on the phone with me every day while I was in the studio asking how it was going, and telling me they couldn't wait to hear the record.” Nick Jonas & The Administration will make their performance debut at Wednesday's Grammy Nomination Concert, airing live at 9p.m./ET on CBS.
Nicole Richie just can’t seem to find enough to do. The former Simple Life star, 28, is already writing her second novel, debuting a clothing line and shoe line, being a mother to her two children, recovering from pneumonia- and now will be headlining a half hour sitcom to premier on ABC. Usmagazine reports that the show is in development and will center on a ‘professional woman with complicated family relationships who is struggling to figure out what role she'll take as her life and her family evolve.’ Variety reports that the pilot will loosely follow the reality star’s own life. Richie herself came up with the idea and will produce as well.
Robyn Sisman was born in Los Angeles, California, the hometown of her grandparents. But she wasn’t there for long- as a child Sisman moved around to Illinois, Geneva, Oxford, Munich, and back to England. In nine years, she attended schools featuring three different main languages- French, English, and German. At 15, her parents divorced and she returned back to America, but was always determined to attend a university in England. And she did. After graduating from Oxford, Sisman taught English in Ethiopia and traveled to Africa before looking for “proper” jobs. It was when she was working as a secretary at Oxford Press University that she met Adam Sisman, a new junior editor for history. She agreed to marry him after the third date. After moving to London with her husband, Sisman worked her way up to become Managing Director of Hutchinson (Random House) and shortly after became a mother. While Adam worked on his biography, she decided to begin drafting her own book- which later became Special Relationship. Sisman then went on to publish Perfect Strangers and Just Friends, both which were Sunday Times Top Ten bestsellers. Her published titles are: Special Relationship, Perfect Strangers, Just Friends, Weekend in Paris, Summer in the City, A Hollywood Ending, and The Perfect Couple (to be released in 2011).

Cosmopolitan Magazine recently published an article titled “The Deadly Drinking Mistake Smart Girls Make.” After reading it, I was deeply disturbed about an increasing trend taking the lives of young women around America. Many people realize the dangers of drinking alcohol- car accidents, alcohol poisoning- but what many (including myself) did not realize is the danger of one’s blood alcohol content (BAC) becoming too high. Cosmo opened the story with 19 year old Laura Treanor, a sophomore at the George Washington University in DC. Treanor went out with friends one night to celebrate Barack Obama becoming president, where she indulged in a few drinks. (The exact amount was not known.) Security cameras outside the campus residence hall shows Treanor searching for her keys just after 2 a.m. The next morning, Laura was found dead in her bed. Amanda Jax was celebrating her 21st birthday. The Minnesota State student started by drinking beer at a friend’s apartment, then moved on to a bar. There, Jax indulged in an eye-popping number of drinks in a short period of time- more beer, a shot of whiskey, and shot of rum, three more shots of hard liquor, a shared pitcher of Long Island iced tea (which equal out to be 12 shots of booze) and a cherry bomb (cherry vodka mixed with an energy drink)- all under two hours. Amanda Jax later passed out at a friend’s house, and was found dead in the morning. Why did these two young girls die after a night of drinking? The reason many surprise you. Each girl was found with dangerously high blood alcohol content’s – Laura Treanor’s was at 0.29- more than three and a half times the legal limit for driving- and Amanda Jax’s was at a staggering 0.46- almost six times the legal driving limit. Both girls had something in common- neither were heavy drinkers. And you don’t need to be an experienced drinker to succumb to this deadly happening- it is actually usually the opposite. Inexperienced drinkers often do not realize the warning signs that the body is producing after consuming too much alcohol, so they do not know it is time to stop. What happens is that they will get acute blood alcohol poisoning- and that often leads to death. Too much alcohol in the blood can prompt a complete shutdown of the respiratory center in the lower brainstem (Cosmopolitan magazine, November, pg. 167).What happens next is that the person will slip into a coma and stop breathing. Once that happens, there is about six minutes before the lack of oxygen to the brain leads to the breakdown of the body systems and will cause permanent neurological damage. Soon after that, the heart stops, and death occurs. Cosmopolitan Magazine listed many ways to make sure women are drinking safely. Share these with your friends to keep yourself and others safe when you go out. For the lowest risk, try to keep your intake to no more than two drinks in once day and no more than seven over the course of the week. If you plan to have more than one, nurse each 12 ounce beer, 5 ounce glass of wine, or 1.5 ounces of liquor in a cocktail for one hour. Try alternating water, soda, or juice with alcoholic drinks to slow yourself down. Water down mixed drinks with ice, and avoid shots- they are almost impossible to nurse. Never drink on an empty stomach. Eat before you hit the bar to slow the rate at which alcohol passes into your bloodstream. Visit Cosmopoliitan.com for more health tips and to read the full article.
Tiger Woods has released a statement involving his car accident that happened on Friday. This is the first we are hearing from Woods about the accident. So far, Woods and his wife Elin have turned away police three times. Alcohol has been ruled out as a factor. It was reported that Elin was the first one on the scene, and she broke out the back window of Woods Escalade with a golf club to pull her husband out. The following statement can be found on his website. “As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I'm pretty sore. This situation is my fault, and it's obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I'm human and I'm not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn't happen again. This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible. The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false. This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.”
