a story of likeSummary:

He’s every woman’s idea of the perfect man: a middle income job, a receding hair line that only Mr. Clean would envy, and a body fit for the beer Olympics.

Who could resist?

Meet Addison Anderson. Although Addy is happy with her life—she has a job she loves, family and friends who support her, and her very own sidekicks in her neurotic Superdog named Lola and a nefarious looking cat named Moustachio—she’s missing the one thing that every girl wants, a plus one to couple’s game night. Enter Charlie. Not exactly the man of her romantic fantasies, Addy is quick to put him in the friend zone, but as he rapidly becomes an invaluable part of her life, Addy must make a big decision: which is more important, that elusive spark or someone to share her life with? Join Addy on her comic voyage as she discovers that not every story is a story of love, sometimes it’s a story of like.

Review:

What a hilarious story! A Story of Like is about falling in love with someone you least expect.

I fell in love with this book right at the beginning. Addy’s personality and antics are fabulous. She starts off by going speed dating and realizes that the possible matches there aren’t THAT bad…not that she is lowering her standards or anything. She finds a new friend in a guy named Charlie. He starts off by being a good friend (who happens to have a huge crush on her) but soon their relationship starts to feel different. She loves being able to be herself with Charlie, including nights of watching James Bond and eating take out. Addy discovered her feelings about Charlie weren’t the sparks and fireworks she was hoping for, and started to really question if they could continue on as friends. All of that changes one night when her dog goes missing and Charlie comes to the rescue.

This really is a “Story of Like”. This book felt like a breath of fresh air in the Chick Lit world. I love a good story with hilarious characters and this book did not disappoint. Stories about dating are always fun to read and I love that this book had such a happy ending. Great writing, great characters… a must read Chick Lit book!
