Summary:
How can you be a part of a couple’s big day when your own love life is crumbling? Her once happy life in tatters thanks to a cheating husband, lacklustre career and a wrinkling face, Viv no longer believes in love and happiness. In fact, she hates them both. The problem is that as a marriage celebrant, gleeful love is what she has to deal with every day. With 10 hilarious and tragic weddings (and a funeral) to get through before she can give up being a celebrant, can she prove that love and happiness are the pathetic hopes of the naive, or will fate intervene and show her that what she secretly craves could be right in front of her?
Review:
When I first saw the cover of Confetti Confidential, I thought this would be chick lit all the way. While there are chick lit elements to it, I think it’s more women’s fiction, but that didn’t deter my reading at all. Viv’s world is falling apart, and after separating from her husband, she seriously considers giving up her career as a wedding celebrant. She has ten weddings still on the books, and vows to get through them and be done. Each wedding was pretty hilarious to read about, and as we get a taste of those, we’re also watching Viv try to pick up the pieces. What I enjoyed most about this read is that I didn’t know who she was going to end up with, romantic-wise. Her husband tries to make a comeback after his affair doesn’t work out, her best friend lays the bombshell that he loves her, she goes on dates. I was interested throughout, and I really enjoyed the ending, and it gave me a bit of a surprise! I thought this was delightful book and I hope you can give it a read.
