About the Book
Dexter meets Mr. and Mrs. Smith in this wildly compulsive debut thriller about a couple whose fifteen-year marriage has finally gotten too interesting…
Our love story is simple. I met a gorgeous woman. We fell in love. We had kids. We moved to the suburbs. We told each other our biggest dreams, and our darkest secrets. And then we got bored.
We look like a normal couple. We’re your neighbors, the parents of your kid’s friend, the acquaintances you keep meaning to get dinner with.
We all have our secrets to keeping a marriage alive.
Ours just happens to be getting away with murder.
My Review
Well, well, well. My Lovely Wife is quite the read. We know from the synopsis that we’re dealing with murder in the story. But once you start reading and realize the level of what you are about to get into – whew. Hold on to your hat. This book is twisted, dark, and several times over will shock you. The writing is fabulous though, because I actually started to feel for our main character, which is the husband. Even though he was involved in kidnapping innocent women and helping his wife live out her twisted fantasies, I kept finding myself maybe not rooting for him exactly, but somewhat hoping for the best when it came to him. It was an odd feeling, to say the least. But the ending … to say my eyebrows jumped into my hairline twice in the last few chapters of the book is an understatement. This book will definitely not be everyone because of the graphic violence inside, but if you are a fan of thrillers, this debut is a solid one.
I’m looking forward to reading this!
