I received a copy of Passion Ignites by Donna Grant in exchange for an honest review.
Synopsis:
He consumed her with that kiss, leaving no question that whatever was happening between them was meant to be-that it had always been meant to be…
HE LOVES FOR ETERNITY
Thorn is the bad boy of the Dragon Kings, a gorgeous, reckless warrior whose passions run wild and fury knows no bounds. When he sees the brave, beautiful Lexi being lured into the Dark Fae’s trap, he has no choice but to rescue her from a fate worse than death. But by saving this tempting mortal, he exposes himself to his fiercest enemy-and darkest desires. As the war between Dragons and Fae heats up, so does the passion between Lexi and Thorn. And when love is a battlefield, the heart takes no prisoners…
SHE LIVES FOR VENGEANCE
Lexi is on a mission of justice. Every day, she searches for the monster who murdered her friend. Every night, she hides in the shadows and plots her revenge. But the man she seeks is more dangerous than she ever imagined. He is one of the Dark Fae who preys on human life, who uses his unearthly power to seduce the innocent, and who is setting a trap just for her. Nothing can save Lexi from a creature like this-except the one man who’s been watching her every move…in Passion Ignites by New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant.
Review:
I’m totally a sucker for big burly sensitive men. Thorn should be a prick but when he sees brave, beautiful, totally-in-over-her-head Lexi bravely and stupidly trying to avenge her best friend’s murder, something inside of him softens just enough to change the fate of the Dragon Kings. This seventh installment in the Dark Kings series proves what fans of Donna Grant already know—dragons are addictive.
Once you get started you won’t want to stop.
Danger, destiny, death and desire. There is a war on earth and, as usual, we stupid humans odn’t know anything about it. The Dragon Kings are trying to protect us, but the Dark Fae are quickly closing in luring us all to our deaths one by one in an attempt to take over the earth. Caught in the middle of this war Lexi doesn’t know what she’s getting into when she starts stalking those who look like the man who killed her best friend. The King’s aren’t supposed to care about individual humans, they are simply supposed to protect the hordes. But love changes things.
In reading this novel, I felt very much like Lexi, caught up in the middle of something I didn’t know was happening, joining the story in the middle. But Grant is a wizard of a writer, able to engage new comers to the series without being monotonous for those already fully entrenched. This book makes me want to go back and read all the others, and I’m totally ready for Smoldering Hunger the next book in the series out December 29, 2015!
This was suggested to me as a Halloween read, but I’m thinking it’s a much better Christmas gift. If you’re still looking for last minute gifts, match this to readers on your nice list. It’s sure to make their holiday happy!
