#BookReview: The Subway Girl by Lisa Becker

About the Book

A hopeless romantic and cynical news producer set out to find a “missed connection” from a NY subway. When the Subway Girl is found, will the aspiring actress win Ryan’s heart? Will his ex-girlfriend worm her way back into his life? Or is there someone else he’s fated to be with?

The Subway Girl combines witty humor, sizzling chemistry, likeable characters, funny banter, and heart swooning moments into a story of unexpected love and fate.

My Review

I am a fan of Lisa Becker novels and this sounded like a cute rom com to indulge in! The set up was great – Ryan convinced he found his soul mate just by locking eyes across the subway – and using technology and social media to find her. Angie is the news producer helping pioneer his search, and both feel the heat between them – but try to ignore it for different reasons. I appreciated the supporting cast and what they added to the story, though a few times I did feel like the scenarios were too predictable and almost glossed by for my liking. I still wanted to see how it ended though so while not a favorite for me, it was still a cute read!
