Halloween Time!

Halloween time is approaching! I for one have always been a fan of the holiday, loving the costumes I get to put myself into and of course- an excuse to eat a ton of candy! My roommate did the unthinkable- bought four bags of mini candy bars and put them in a bowl on our table. She thought we could hand some out come trick or treat time in our neighborhood. Well of course, they are just about gone now, compliments of my huge sweet tooth. We will definitely have to buy more candy if we plan on handing it out! I am still deciding what to dress up as for the costume contest at my hospital job- I’m thinking a giant M&M (my favorite candy!) Hope everyone enjoys the holiday this weekend!

October has been breast cancer awareness month. Pink has popped up everywhere, from the grocery stores, makeup counters, and even the NFL. But raising awareness doesn’t have to stop just because the calendar has rolled over. Whether you have personally been affected by the disease, known someone who has, or just want to offer your support; there is something for everybody to fight for a cure.

Wendy Markham Book Signing

Wendy Markham will appear at Chappaqua Public Library, 195 S. Chappaqua Public Library in New York on Tuesday, October 27th. There will be an author discussion starting at 7:30 pm, with the topic : How Edgar Allan Poe Influences Contemporary Mysteries. Authors will be signing after the discussion.

The Beginning

Chick Lit Plus was started in October of 2009, and is devoted not only to books of the chick lit genre, but also interests of chick lit fans. Having so many different interests myself, it took me awhile to come up with a website that would tie all of them together. After discovering chick lit books about two years ago, I became fascinated with the different worlds I could escape to by opening the cover of books that were decorated with glamour, shoes, shopping bags, and of course- a loveable heroine. After reading an extensive collection, I decided I could turn my hobby into something useful, alas ChickLitPlus.com was created.
