Summary:

Review:

I love Carrie’s life. As an interior designer, she works to create the perfect home. She’s madly in love with her boyfriend of six years – but she can’t figure out why he won’t propose. When she walks in on him one day doing the unthinkable, she decides it’s time to start over and re-design her life.

She decides to move to Florida, quite different from her home in Texas. She purchases a gorgeous new home and on her first night there she heads out to a local bar. She starts the night off flirting with the cute bartender, but her fun is cut short when a gorgeous, drunk man puts the moves on her. She brushes him off, but little does she know this is potentially the man of her dreams. Carrie ends up working for him and after a rocky start, she finds that first impressions aren’t always the best side of people.

From the beginning of the story I felt that Carrie was an extremely strong character. She never once took her ex back and to me that shows strength in a person. To be able to face life on your own after being in a relationship for years is an admirable quality. This book was very refreshing for me, as it gets old hearing and reading about women who keep going back to men who have disrespected them. Kudos to Isabelle Louise Anderson for creating one of my favorite novel characters this year
