Makeup I’ve Wasted My Money On

I usually open up these posts/videos with “I’m so excited”, but this one kind of sucks. All jokes aside, I want to share the worst makeup products I’ve been testing out so far this year. My hope is that this will save you some of your hard earned money!

For all of the worst makeup products (in my opinion) from 2022 so far, be sure to watch the YouTube video linked below.

The Danessa Myricks Yummy Serum Foundation ($34) is a little tricky to use. I’ve seen the videos and comments explaining on how best to use this product. You’re supposed to use the tiniest amount of product. Even when I’m going in with a light layer, I feel that it’s too much for my skin, and accentuates my dry skin. My foundation preference is definitely something more lightweight.

I was super disappointed in the NARS Light Reflecting Setting Powder ($39). This may work better for someone with a more oily skin type, but this powder made my face pretty matte, flat, and cakey at times. Though I bought the translucent one, I feel that it altered the color of my foundation and I can’t say I’ve ever experienced that before. I was surprised that this didn’t work out, because I am a fan of the Light Reflecting Foundation from NARS, and assumed this would work because it’s the same line.

I am generally Dior Beauty’s number 1 fan; I like so much from the line. The Dior Glow Face Palette ($45) didn’t work out for me. I’m extra disappointed beyond just wasting my money on it, because this was a product on my wishlist for years. It’s so sad when you lust after a product for so long, and then you don’t love it. I have fallen out of love with face palettes that are only one product (all highlights or all blush etc.). I thought I could use this for not only highlighters, but as a glowy blush, and quick eyeshadow. I am just not reaching for this and much prefer their individual products.

Let me know in the comments a product you feel you wasted your money on this year. If you’re curious to hear about all of the products I wasted my money on, click here:
