Santorini Sunsets: A Novel by Anita Hughes – August 2, 2016. I get so excited when I see that a new Anita Hughes novel is being published. Her stories are always set in exotic locals, and I find it comforting to slip into the beautiful worlds that Hughes creates for her characters. In her latest, we have a big celebrity wedding on the Greek Island of Santorini. New York socialite Brigit Palmer is about to marry Blake Crawford, everyone’s favorite Hollywood heartthrob. It seems like a dream come true until Brigit discovers her ex-husband, Nathaniel, is on the island – and it’s not a coincidence. He’s there to cover her wedding for Hello magazine, and Blake sanctioned the arrangement. Without telling Brigit, Blake sold the rights to their wedding for two million dollars (to be donated to charity). Nathaniel also has some dirt on Mr. Hollywood that could create even more chaos for the big event.
A Week in Paris: A Novel by Rachel Hore – August 9, 2016. Faye is a successful violinist who’s excited to be visiting Paris for the first time. Even though she’s never been there before, Paris feels strangely familiar to her. When she returns home, Faye discovers an old suitcase that belonged to her mother. The luggage tag causes her to realize she does in fact have a deep connection to Paris. Faye soon finds herself in the past, Paris 1937, on the eve of World War II. It was a night that altered the course of her mother’s life and leads Faye to question who she is – and the course of her own life.
Can I See You Again? by Allison Morgan – August 9, 2016. Bree Caxton is a popular matchmaker with a 98% success rate. Her talent for helping her clients find “the one” is so revered that she lands a book deal. The week before the book hits the shelves, Bree’s fiancée breaks up with her. The book’s sales and Bree’s reputation depend on her having a happy personal life. Mortified and about to go on book tour, Bree asks former client Nixon Voss (whom she was unable to successfully match) to pose as her boyfriend. Her fans love Nixon, which complicates matters – especially when the ex-fiancée decides he wants Bree back.
Results May Vary: A Novel by Bethany Chase – August 9, 2016. Can you imagine falling in love at seventeen and marrying your high school sweetheart? And can you imagine after a decade of what you believe to be marital bliss, you discover that the love of your life is having an affair with a man? That’s what happens to Caroline, the heroine of this engaging and thought provoking novel. With the help of her sister and her best friend, Caroline attempts to rebuild her shattered life. She starts dating a widower who has young children and soon Caroline finds herself living another woman’s life – all the while missing her old one.
First Star I See Tonight by Susan Elizabeth Phillips – August 23, 2016. Phillips is my all-time favorite author of romantic comedies. In her lest novel, she revisits the Chicago Stars football team, which spawned a series of fan favorites (this is the 8th book in the Stars series, but they can be read out of order). Chicago private detective Piper Dove is hired to follow the former quarterback of the Stars, Cooper Graham. Mr. Graham is not happy about this and does everything he can to “lose” the private eye. Eventually Piper ends up working for Coop, who hires her to investigate some employees at his new nightclub. Working so closely with Cooper unsettles Piper, especially after she discovers that his life is in danger. Will a man like Cooper – a successful super-star athlete – let Piper help him?
I have read and really enjoyed Santorini Sunsets. Thank you for the recommendations for the other books!
