No Love for Britney Down Under

Would you be upset if you paid $148 to watch Britney Spears lip synch on stage? Australia certainly is. There has been much backlash after Spears performed on Friday, lip synching to quite a few numbers in her “Circus” tour. Hundreds of fans reportedly stormed out of the concert in the Burswood Dome in the Western Australia city of Perth, citing disappointment by the lackluster performance and lip synched songs. One fan said, “It was so impersonal. She did not interact with her audience. There were no big TV screens projecting the action, so if you didn’t know Britney, you might have even doubted it was her.” People.com reports that not all fans were that upset. Many of the satisfied concert goers took her website and praised her show and performance. Spears is next scheduled to perform in Melbourne on November 11th.

After People.com ran this story, Usmagazine1257783371_britney-performing-290 had a different story to spin. According to Spears’ tour promoter Paul Dainty, the alleged walkouts never happened at the Australian concerts. Spears’ manager Adam Leber had this comment to make on the singer’s Twitter account: “Its unfortunate that one journalist in Perth didn’t enjoy the show last night. Fortunately the other 18,272 fans in attendance did. – Adam.”
