Pursuing the Times by Lauren Baratz-Logsted

pursuing the timesI received a copy of PURSUING THE TIMES by Lauren Baratz-Logsted in exchange for an honest review.

Pursuing The Times by Lauren Baratz-Logsted follows author extraordinaire Mercury Lauren. Mercy didn’t set out to be successful but it happened to land in her lap along the way and becomes a big deal in the chick-lit realm. But, that doesn’t mean anything to some people and all she wants is to have her name (and her book) reviewed by the big wigs at the New York Times Book Review. On a whim of a chance, her agent, Angel, happens to take matters into her own hands and offers Mercury a ticket to a book rewards dinner where she will finally get the chance to woo Frank D’Archangelo (the Editor-in-Chief) and get him to review her book. But, disaster ensues and she makes a fool out of herself during her first encounter. However, this isn’t their only encounter throughout the story, but will Mercury ever be able to get him to change his mind?

The one word that comes to when attempting to describe this book is FUN. Yes, I said it. This book is loads of fun and full of wit, satire and hilarious moments that will leave the reader laughing and wanting more. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Mercury and Frank and definitely found myself anxious to see what would happen between the two as I read. I also really enjoyed the secondary cast of characters as well and think that Lauren does such a fabulous job at creating such likeable characters. Overall, this book was a really great time and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I would highly recommend it.
