People.com reports the coroner’s statement as reading the specific cause of death was “diabetic ketoacidosis,” a condition caused by a shortage of insulin. Johnson had suffered from diabetes since she was a chid. The Johnson & Johnson heiress, 30, is survived by her 3 year old adopted daughter, Ava.

People.com reports that Los Angeles police and firefighters were called to a house at 11:51 am on Monday, where Johnson was pronounced dead on the scene. Police Officer Sara Faden released this statement, “It appears to be a natural death. There’s no evidence of foul play. A toxicology report from the coroner’s office will proceed next.”
