1257774722_travolta-290John Travolta and Kelly Preston are speaking out for the first time since the death of 16 year old son, Jett. Travolta, 45, gave a round table interview with the cast of Old Dogs (also starring Preston and 9 year old daughter Ella) per USA Today, and in it says, “We’ve been working very hard every day as a family to heal. We have our own way of doing it, and it has been helping.” Usmagazine quotes Preston, 47, as saying the “outpouring of love from, really, worldwide has been extraordinary. It’s been our friends, our family, our church. We partake in spiritual counseling pretty much daily.” Jett passed away in January from a seizure.

Travolta and family made the decision to come out in the public to support Ella’s role in the upcoming film. This will be the 9 year olds film debut. Travolta said, “We decided it was OK to come out and promote, to introduce her to the world and to give her a beautiful future in film.” Both Travolta and Preston declined to talk about the extortion case involving a former Bahamian senator and a paramedic who are accused of demanding $25 million from the family with information about Jett’s death. A mistrial was declared in October and a retrial was ordered.
