TOP 20 MAKEUP BRUSHES OF 2020

You may or may not know that I have a serious brush collection. Makeup brushes have been a love of mine for years, so I am excited to share my top picks with you. To kick off my 20 in 2020 favorites series, I’m sharing my top 20 makeup brushes that I think you need, to build an excellent brush collection.

For the full 20+ top brush recommendations, you can watch my YouTube video down below.

BK Beauty was a brand created in 2020 by Lisa J Makeup, and I am such a fan! These are top notch quality, and each purchase supports The Kindness Campaign. When it comes to foundation, I am typically a sponge kind of gal, but there is something about the bestselling BK Beauty 101 brush that I love, especially to get the most from a lighter coverage foundation, and to apply very liquidy foundations, like the Pat McGrath Sublime Perfection.
The Sephora 57 and I are in a long term, committed relationship. This concealer brush has been featured in my favorite brush videos for years. It’s small, but not too small. It’s not so small that it will take too long to blend out my concealer, but small enough for that precision.

One of the hardest categories for me to narrow down my top picks – bronzer brushes. Another from BK Beauty, their 103 brush, I own multiple. No matter what bronzer I am using, this brush blends it effortlessly. I started using Rephr brushes in 2019, and they continue to impress me with their high quality, natural bristle brushes. The Rephr 22 is another that applies bronzer so well, people on Instagram are always asking about this large, beautiful brush.

Angled brushes are my preferred shape to apply blush. The Rephr 04 is the smallest angled brush in my collection, and is my favorite to get that blush right where I want it. If you’re looking for a bit of a different shape, I also highly recommend the Ecotools Precision Blush brush.

I’ve been buying Sigma Beauty brushes since before I had a YouTube channel, and have a ton of favorites from the brand. I also do have an affiliate code, which is samantha. The F03 High Cheekbone Highlighter does something magically. I may be embarrassed to admit that I own… 5!

Narrowing down my eye brush picks was much more difficult than face brushes. Let’s start with blending brushes. Having a variety of shapes and sizes can do wonders for your makeup game. The Sigma E44 Firm Blender is so versatile and I reach for it often! It’s a bit larger, but comes to a nice dome on top. It packs on the pigment, and also blends it out. If you’re looking for something a bit bigger and fluffier, the BK Beauty 202 is incredible for blending in the crease, I’m going to have to purchase at least two more to always have a clean one on hand. I mentioned the Sephora 24 in my Top 10 Sephora Purchases video. I really enjoy how small and precise this brush is, it’s great for detailed blending, as well as your lower lashline. Smaller again, is the Sigma E42 Precision Firm Blender. It’s shape really lends itself to smoking out that lower lashline.

How do you think the BK Beauty brushes compare to the Morphe brushes?
