Best and Worst Palettes of 2022 (so far)

I have tried over 30 palettes so far this year, and am ranking them for you today. Ranking makeup is one of my favorite things to do on my channel. I also do this every single month, for any eyeshadows I’ve been using; new releases and old favorites. For the full ranking, be sure to watch my YouTube video below.

Worst Palettes of 2022

#29 I think I’m going to make a lot of people angry with this one because whenever I talk about not like the Pat McGrath eyeshadow palettes, I get a lot of hate. I tend to have very bad allergic reactions to her formula. This, of course, does not happen to everyone, but it severely effects my enjoyment of this palette, because I will never risk using it again and cannot recommend it based on my own personal experience. That being said, the worst palette I have tried so far in 2022 is the Pat McGrath Bridgerton palette ($65). $65 for six eyeshadows, two of which I cannot use due to their ingredients. Beyond the allergy, I simply do not like the formula. The mattes are incredibly hard to use, the shimmers can be beautiful, but I have way better shadows in my collection at a better price point.

#28 The Pat McGrath Midnight Voyage ($29) mini palette is very new to my collection. You can watch me struggle with this mini six pan palette in a GRWM video. I love purple and mauve tones. I bought this palette myself so obviously I hoped to love it. The mattes were so patchy and blended away to nothing. The shimmers were pretty, but by the end of the night, they were all over my face. Once again, I had an allergic reaction to these as well. I swear I do like the Pat McGrath brand, but these palettes are not it for me unfortunately.

#2 I can’t seem to pronounce the name of this palette perfectly, but it’s still a favorite. The Oden’s Eye Solmane 2 palette ($32.90). I was really caught off guard with how much I loved this palette, especially as more of a neutral eyeshadow lover. I have liked their palettes a lot in the past, but this one is special and I cannot stop reaching for it. The purple looks I’ve created from this palette have been some of my favorite looks I’ve done all year hands down. I’m very impressed with this one. I do have a code with Oden’s Eye now, it is SAMANTHA and saves you some money.

#1 We’ve been all over the place when it comes to the tones and colors included in some of my favorite palettes this year, but stealing the top spot are the new Kaja Bento Bouncy Trios ($26) in both Peach Madeline and Mauve Bouquet. These are perfection to me. Teeny, cute, quick, neutral, incredible formula; it hits all the boxes for me. They both have a matte shadow, a glitter topper, and a shimmer shade. When I wear these, I get so many compliments.
