These are the best high-end makeup products that I put to the test in 2020. If you are looking for more affordable products, I do have a video on that, as well as my favorite brushes for the year.
Let’s kick things off with my girl Charlotte Tilbury! A standout collection of products from this line are the wands. I believe I tried the contour wand in 2019, and it has continued to be a favorite. The blush and highlight wands are a more recent addition to my collection, and I am reaching for them so often; they’re a dream to work with. I was never a liquid or cream cheek product gal, but 2020 changed me.
This couldn’t be a Best of Beauty 2020 without mentioning my collaboration with Ofra Cosmetics. Every product in this collection is very special to me. These were launched in March; such an uncertain time, and I am so grateful for the continued support it receives. It is still so wild to me that I have products in Ulta Beauty!
Surprisingly, I had quite a few primer favorites this year. The one I’ll mention here is the Urban Decay All Nighter Gripping Primer. The Milk Makeup Gripping Primer made it into my 2019 Best of Beauty, but I actually think I like the Urban Decay primer more; it’s less finicky. The combination of my skin becoming a bit more oily, and needing to wear masks so often this year, a gripping primer really helps my makeup stay on all day.
The Pat McGrath Sublime Concealer is so nice! I tried it earlier this year. The coverage is amazing, without looking heavy, and is so easy to blend out. It also works so well underneath the eyes, and it was my number one for spot concealing, until I tried the Nars Soft Matte Complete concealer, which may just be one of my tippy top faves of the year. It’s ability to conceal my hormonal acne, and allow me to wear less foundation is incredible!
Let’s finish things off with a lip combo from PUR Cosmetics that launched in their second Barbie collection. The packaging is stunning, and definitely reminds me of Barbie. I love when I can find a good matte bullet lipstick formula, and PUR Trailblazer is such a beautiful nude. It looks amazing on its own, but when I’m feeling sassy, I’ll top it with the Girl gloss, and it’s gorgeous!
