the day we metABOUT THE BOOK

Stephanie and Jamie are meant to be. The problem is they’re both with other people…

Stephanie doesn’t believe in fate, true love or living happily ever after. She’s content enough being married to Matt. But then she meets Jamie, who understands her more than anyone else ever has.

Jamie’s married to his childhood sweetheart and believes in everything Stephanie doesn’t. He’s happy with Helen. So why does he have such a strong connection with Stephanie?

When Stephanie and Jamie meet one fateful weekend in 2006, it sparks a tumultuous relationship which spans over a decade. The day they meet changes everything…

Ten years, two people and one epic love story that asks what happens when you meet your soulmate after you’re already engaged to someone else?

MY REVIEW

Well, warning: this book is intense. The Day We Met by Roxie Cooper is a fairly lengthy novel, but I was really drawn to both Stephanie and Jamie and their … truly epic love story. Both are with other people when they meet, fairly happy and content in life, but their connection could only be described as – meeting your soul mate. Through the next ten years, they meet at least once a year, trying to forget about their real life, their spouses, even their children in time, when they have their weekend together.

It’s interesting to read a book where you’re rooting for two people having an affair to be together, but it’s so well-written and we really are able to see the connection between Stephanie and Jamie, as well the disconnect they have with their partners. I was really invested throughout the entire story, even though it was long. The ending though … I honestly did not see coming and I’m still a bit unsure how I feel. This book will get extremely emotional so have some tissues nearby when reading.
