And the coveted mirror ball trophy goes to…..Donny Osmond!! The entertainment legend, 51, beat out dancing queen Mya and fan favorite Kelly Osbourne on Tuesday’s Dancing With the Stars finale. After Osmond and his partner, the Australian Kym Johnson, were announced as Season 9 winners, he rushed over to embrace wife Debbie, who was in attendance. “That was so special for me to have Kym on my right and Debbie on my left. What a night,” Osmond told People.com. After the interviews are over, Osmond and his family plan to vacation in Hawaii. I think we can all agree that the oldest winner of Dancing With the Stars deserves a break.
The results show didn’t run too smoothly though. There was a small fire that sparked on the stage, and a tarp covering the orchestra pit caught on fire. There were also technical glitches, such as a video recap of Monday night’s performance that kept freezing, forcing host Tom Bergeron to cut to commercial then replay the clip. Osmond took to the stage as a singer, performing his 1970’s hit “Puppy Love” while Chelsie Hightower and former partner Louie Vito danced, but his microphone did not work for the first lines. Everyone got through the 2 hour live show, and I think all Dancing fans are eager for Season 10 to arrive.

Carrie Ann Inaba, choreographer and judge on Dancing With the Stars will undergo surgery Wednesday morning in Los Angeles. People.com reports that Inaba suffers from spinal stenosis, and the surgery will help relieve pressure and stiffness on her neck. Spinal stenosis is where the spinal cord narrows, putting pressure on one or more areas of the spinal cord, causing pain and discomfort. The condition can be caused by arthritis (which Inaba has) or an injury. Inaba says, “I have arthritis. The space around my spinal cord has become compressed. I have been locked. My neck was so stiff. We’re hoping this procedure will relieve that.”
The choreographer is still planning to attend the Dizzy Feet Foundation’s Celebration of Dance fundraiser on November 29th. She is a founding member of the foundation.
