About the Book
Adrienne Jones was just another high school junior, eager to spend her days on the streets of Baltimore despite her mother’s objections after a stint in juvenile hall for marijuana possession the previous year. With no close friends or ties to her community, her closest ally is new teen mom, Mariah Warner, whom Adrienne has decided to help raise her child, much to her mother’s dismay. Not particularly interested in anything but her newest love interest, varsity football player Drew Houston, Adrienne and her group of friends were self-proclaimed outcasts. They weren’t sought out for anything but jokes at their expense by the school’s elite, the athletes and cheerleaders. Ironically, they were okay with that. It means they all knew where they stood.
One day after a blood-boiling confrontation with her mother, Adrienne decides to show her mother up by trying out for the cheerleader squad, much to her own surprise. With the support of her boyfriend, Malkum Warner, she manages to make the squad, leading to a new-found sense of popularity. Drew has noticed her, she’s been invited to parties, and Shakira is now interested in being friends. However, suddenly a series of horrific envy-induced events begin to unfold as Adrienne’s relationship with Malkum, her mother, and Mariah all suffer as she is now accused of being a power hungry tyrant She watches her relationship fall apart in a whirlwind as Drew begins to pursue her, leaving her vulnerable and confused as to if it’s her status or actual personality that he’s interested in.
Then things begin to happen. Weird things. Things with no explanation. A night after cheer practice, some girls are missing and many boys from the football team are hysterical and fear-stricken. With no recall of any incidents, all eyes are on Adrienne has the newest member of the popular crew. Her former friends are wondering if her popularity is making her blind to what’s going on, while Adrienne is just hoping to make it through the day, regretting her new-found high school elitism and is vying for the days of being just another high school junior.

About the Author
My first novel came along during the wee hours of the night in 2011. I was laid off and laid up after a car accident, and figured it was time to bring my goal to light. Four years later, it is finally available to the masses. I took every frustration and disappointment that life had handed me thus far and created some truly relatable characters. Who wouldn’t be able to connect to a lost college student? Aren’t we all lost to some extent at that time?
I’m a Jersey girl through and through who lives in Pennsylvania. I’m a Westonian, a Blue Hen, and a Hawk with a flair for the Spanish language. I’ve been bit by the traveling bug on numerous occasions, and I won’t be surprised if my first child is born in the middle of a yoga studio. Oh yeah, I have a husband now.
