Khloe and Lamar’s New Tattoos

Khloe Kardashian is still wanting to let people know that her and Lamar’s quickie marriage is for real. Lamar and Khloe are both sporting new ink- tattoos of each other’s initials. Khloe has LO on her right hand and Lamar has KO on both hands, as Khloe wrote in a new blog post. She states that she got the idea while having dinner with Lamar, and the decision was spontaneous. This is Khloe’s third tattoo- her previous are in honor of her late father- “I Love You” in her father’s handwriting on her wrist, and “Daddy” above a cross and angel wings on her lower back.

Baby Proof by Emily Giffin

I was surprised at the next event- a divorce. I thought no way would Claudia divorce someone she loved so much. Wouldn’t she just have a baby? No way. Claudia was firm about not changing her mind, as was Ben, and quickly a divorce was under way. Emily Giffin gives readers a thoughtful, heart-warming, irresistible to put down third novel with Baby Proof and the challenges that the heroine faces after leaving the love of her life. Even if you have never been married or thought about having children (like myself) I was immediately drawn into the plot. The writing is personal, the narration is to the point, and the characters are wholly believable.

Original Cyn by Sue Margolis

Original Cyn by Sue Margolis has interesting parts, but generally the plot is too slow moving. There is not enough suspense and build-up of the main character stealing another’s identity. I found myself uninterested in turning the pages. The characters are humorous, with a gay best friend and foreign import turned love interest for Cyn’s best friend, but overall, I wasn’t excited about this un-inspiring novel.

Ivanka Trump Married

Ivanka Trump, daughter to Donald Trump, has married New York Observer owner Jared Kushner on Sunday in New Jersey. Usmagazine confirmed the marriage. The ceremony took place on the grounds of the Trump National Golf Club, located in Bedminster, New Jersey. Trump and Kushner began dating in 2007, and after a brief split, they went strong since July of 2008. They were engaged last July, and were married after just three months of planning. Trump has stated that she will keep her own last name, citing professional reasons. She is the executive vice president at the Trump Organization.

Jodie Sweetin Drug Bombshells

Just a few of the bombshells from her book include snorting meth in a bathroom stall at Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s New York Minute premier in 2004, starting ecstasy in high school and moving on to meth in college, and being removed from Candace Cameron’s wedding after getting so drunk she vomited- at age 14. Sweetin says she has been sober since December of 2008 after almost losing her daughter in a custody battle, and credits going to AA meetings and staying away from people that have drug and alcohol problems to her continuing sobriety. Jodie Sweetin’s memoir, unSweetined, is due out on November 3rd.

Star by Pamela Anderson

Anyone who enjoys anything about celebrities and the Hollywood gossip will need to put Star on their list of must-reads. And the surprising author? None other than famous, shameless, yet loveable Pamela Anderson. Star is undoubtedly based off of Anderson’s real life- being discovered in a tight t-shirt at a football game, appearing on covers of men’s magazines, donning a tiny one piece in a TV show about lifeguards-but what I really enjoyed about this book is that it is not all fact. There is fiction written, and as a reader we can try to guess what is real life and what is not

Claire Matturro

Claire Matturro is an award winning author with four published titles, all revolving around heroine Lilly Cleary. Matturro, whose career included becoming the first woman partner at the Sarasota law firm Dickinson and Gibbons, puts her legal background to use in her novels, with mystery, suspense, and a whole lot of sass while following Lilly Cleary as she works at a Sarasota law firm.

Skinny-Dipping by Claire Matturro

Matturro gives readers a sexy, sassy, determined, and witty heroine, but mixes in just enough legal jargon to make this thriller truly suspenseful. I loved that the villain is not indentified until the very end, as with many mysteries readers can pinpoint them within a few chapters. This aspect ups the intensity and need to keep turning the pages. The plot zips by quickly with a mix of memorable characters, including a depressed Rottweiler and an albino ferret, and they add an ingredient of humor to this enjoyable first novel from Claire Mutturro.

The Second Wives Club by Jane Moore

The Second Wives Club by Jane Moore gives readers an inside look at four different women and their lives. Friends Alison, Fiona, Julia, and Susan all have something in common- they are the second women in their man’s life. Alison has just married Luca, and his first wife Sofia is using their two children as leverage to manipulate her ex. Fiona has her husband’s teenage son as a hurdle, whose mother is trying to turn him against Fiona. The gorgeous and perfect Julia does not understand her husband’s insistence of keeping his ex-wife in his life, especially with no children in the picture. Susan is not a wife to Nick, but lives with him and is helping to raise his daughter after the unexpected death of his young wife Caitlin, the perfect wife and mother.
